On August 21, members of the VANGUARD Project from the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) presented an oral communication at the 15th Conference of HEPA Europe, in Dublin (Ireland).
In the spirit of the conference theme – “Implementing Health-Enhancing Physical Activity: the importance of inclusion”– the work from the VANGUARD Project described the bespoke development of a physical activity and health course integrated into the undergraduate medical curriculum of the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto (ICBAS).
Globally, more than half of medical students were very satisfied with the course, which supports its inclusion in the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine. These results may have positive implications for future medical doctors in promoting health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) among patients and communities.
